Mimi Chiu

BSc, DIP(PT), IMS Certified, MCPA

Mimi is the clinic owner and has over twenty years of physiotherapy experience. In 1979 she graduated from the University of New South Wales in Sydney (Australia). In 1980 she obtained her postgraduate diploma in Physiotherapy from the Cumberland College of Health Sciences in Sydney. She has extensive postgraduate training in the areas of manual therapy, gait analysis, core stability, myofascial pain treatments and Gunn intramuscular stimulation. Mimi continues to present seminars and workshops for many businesses and community organizations in the Calgary area. She is an optimistic golfer, skier and hiker. She also participates in violin and tenor saxophone ensembles.

Roxanne Elenko

Roxanne Elenko

BScBiology, BScPT, RCAMPT, CPTA

Roxanne received her BScPT with distinction in 2001 from University of Alberta. She went on to complete courses and examinations to receive her diploma in intermediate manual and manipulative therapy (RCAMPT) in 2005. In addition to her Physical Therapy degree, Roxanne also holds a BSc in Biological Sciences and Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in which she was a member of the women's varsity soccer team. She has spent the bulk of her career in private practice sports cliinics in which she has dealt with a large variety of injuries including being a therapist for the Canadian Canoe and Kayak Team. Roxanne continues to play competitive soccer and was a member of the 2011 National Championship Team. She has also completed multiple marathons, triathlons and the Penticton Ironman.

Joyce Lang

BScPT, dip. manippt, FCAMpT, CAFCi, cgims, MCPA

Joyce graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy in 2000. She become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) after completing her Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy certification in 2009.  She has her certification in Anatomical Acupuncture (CAFCI) and Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (CGIMS).

She has over 10 years of clinical experience in orthopedics and sports injury rehabilitation.  Joyce spent 9 years as a team physiotherapist for university and local sports teams (rugby, football, track and field).  In addition, she has experience in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings.  Joyce has completed extensive post graduate certifications and has a special interest in core stability, shoulder dysfunctions, neck and back pain, repetitive strain injuries and sports related injuries.

Joyce incorporates a variety of treatment techniques including spinal and joint manipulations, core stabilization exercises, soft tissue mobilization, injury specific exercise prescription, neural tissue mobilization and dry needling to restore optimal function and prevent future reoccurrence.

In her spare time, Joyce enjoys running, biking, sea kayaking, hot yoga, pilates, hiking, and camping.

Diane Roylance

Diane Roylance

BSc(Zoology), BSc(PT), FCAMT, MCPA

Diane graduated from the University of Toronto in 1995. She has extensive training in advanced manual therapy as well as neck and shoulder stabilization.In 2003 she completed her fellow of manipulative therapy (FCAMT). An active member of the outdoor community, she is a former competitive rower and continues to be a passionate skier and climber. This experience has provided her with firsthand knowledge to her treatment of injured athletes.

Renee Poloprutsky

BSc(PT), FCAMT, IMS Certified, MCPA

Renee graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a BScPT in 1995. She achieved the Intermediate and Advanced Diploma in Manipulative Therapy (RCAMT and FCAMT) in 2000 and 2002 respectively. She completed her certificate in intramuscular stimulation in 2000. Renee teaches core stabilization classes and has extensive experience treating spinal related injuries including post motor vehicle accident rehabilitation. She participates in a variety of activities including hiking, yoga and flag football.

Barb Taxbock

Barbara Taxbock

BSc(PT), CAFCI, IMS CERTIFIED, MCPA

Barb received her BScPT in 2002 from the University of Alberta. She is a certified member of the AFCI (Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute) and is certified in the Gunn technique of IMS (intramuscular stimulation). Barb also holds a Biomechanics degree from the University of Calgary and has a special interest in gait related injuries. She is an avid runner, having completed her first marathon in 2005. Barb's weekends are spent skiing in the back-country, hiking, mountain biking, and sport climbing.

Kelly Barrie

BHSc(PT), BPE, FCAMT, CAFCI, IMS Certified

Kelly graduated from McMaster University with a BHScPT in 1995. In 1998, she became a certified member of AFCI (Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute). In 1999, she completed her RCAMPT (resident of manipulative therapy) and attained her advanced diploma in spinal manipulation (FACMPT) in 2003. Kelly also holds a physical education degree from the University of Alberta and has worked as a personal fitness trainer. She has a special interest in neck and back pain, shoulder dysfunctions and stabilization exercises. Kelly also has a special interest in chronic pain and consults at the Advanced Spinal Care Centre. She is currently listed as an Independent Management Consultant for automobile insurance claims in the province of Alberta. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, mountain bike riding, hiking and running.

Lea Juszkiewicz

MScPT, BPE

Lea graduated from the University of Alberta with a MScPT in 2007. She has her Certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy from Curtin University in Perth, Australia. She has also completed Jim Meadows' Spinal Manipulation course. This past year, Lea studied under Dr. Steven Aung and received her Certificate in Medical Acupuncture from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Alberta. She has a special interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as well as hand and shoulder injuries.

Lea is an outdoor enthusiast and loves spending time in the mountains. She spends most of her spare time rock climbing, hiking and practicing yoga.
